Rice Academic Editing ("we", "us", "Andrew Rice") respects your privacy. This policy
explains what information we collect when you use this website or our editing service,
how we use it, and the choices you have.
Information we collect
Quote requests and enquiries. When you submit the quote form we collect your name, email address, manuscript word count, chosen editing tier, preferred currency, and any message you provide.
Manuscripts. The quote form requires you to upload your manuscript. The file is uploaded to private storage (Vercel Blob) that is not publicly accessible and cannot be read without a signed, expiring link. Smaller manuscripts are emailed to Andrew as an attachment and deleted from storage immediately afterwards. Manuscripts too large to email remain in private storage so that Andrew can download them; the download link expires after 7 days, and the file is deleted once it is no longer needed. You can ask us to delete your manuscript at any time. Manuscripts you send us, whether through the form or by email, are treated as strictly confidential and are never shared with third parties or used to train any AI system.
Technical data. Our hosting provider (Vercel) may collect standard server logs such as IP address, browser type, and pages visited, for security and performance.
How we use your information
To respond to your quote request and communicate with you about your manuscript.
To deliver the editing service you have requested and to process payment once you are satisfied.
To maintain the security and reliability of this website.
How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with the service providers
needed to operate, such as our form-handling provider (to deliver your quote request to us)
and our hosting provider (Vercel). Each processes data on our behalf under their own
privacy terms.
Confidentiality of your work
Your unpublished research is sensitive. We keep all manuscripts confidential, do not
disclose your work, and delete working copies on request after a project is complete.
Data retention
We keep quote requests and project correspondence for as long as needed to provide the
service and meet legal or accounting obligations, then delete them.
Your rights
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of the personal information we hold
about you. Depending on your location (for example under GDPR), you may have additional
